Invisible braces, designed here and fitted here
Lingual orthodontics bonds the brackets to the inner surface of the teeth, on the tongue side, instead of the front. The appliance is fixed, works continuously and cannot be seen from the outside. It treats almost every misalignment, including complex adult cases.
In 2008 Dr Curiel designed the Harmony system, the first self-ligating lingual appliance in which every bracket and every wire is manufactured for one patient from a digital model of their teeth. Distributed worldwide since 2011 with American Orthodontics, it has been the subject of 17 patents, and Dr Curiel has taught the technique to orthodontists in Japan, Austria, the United States, China and across Europe.
For a patient of the practice, this experience means thinner brackets that interfere less with the tongue, shorter adjustment visits and a predictable appliance, so that a realistic treatment duration can be stated in the quote.

Paperwork for your insurer
Quotes and invoices are issued in French, in the format French mutuelles require. On request, the practice can provide an English summary of the treatment plan and the documents most international insurers ask for: an itemised quote, an invoice for each stage of payment and confirmation of the dates of treatment.

The practice is on avenue Charles-de-Gaulle, the continuation of the Champs-Élysées axis into Neuilly-sur-Seine. Frequently asked questions
What English-speaking patients ask before coming
Do you treat adults?
Yes. About a third of the practice’s patients are adults, and there is no upper age limit as long as the gums and supporting bone are healthy. Adults are most often treated with lingual braces or clear aligners, both discreet enough for a professional life.
Can I be treated entirely in English?
Yes. Dr Curiel completed his orthodontic training at Columbia University in New York and consults in English. The examination, the explanation of the options and the discussion of the quote take place in English. The quote itself is issued in French, the format French insurers require; an English summary can be provided on request.
Will my international insurance reimburse the treatment?
That depends on your policy. French public health insurance does not cover adult orthodontics, apart from one semester before jaw surgery, but many French mutuelles and international insurers reimburse part of the cost. Check your policy before starting; the practice provides the itemised quote and invoices needed for a claim.
How long does lingual treatment take?
From 6 to 9 months for a simple realignment of the front teeth, and 12 to 24 months for a complete correction of the bite. The expected duration is written in the quote after the assessment and depends mainly on the complexity of the case.
How far is the practice from Porte Maillot?
One stop on métro line 1 (Les Sablons) or about 12 minutes on foot along avenue Charles-de-Gaulle. From Charles de Gaulle–Étoile or from La Défense, Les Sablons is three stops away on the same line.
